It's a global event where more than 600 cities will compete to see who can observe the most wildlife over four days. With events happening all across Memphis, including SEVEN Nature 101 walks at Overton Park, there are lots of opportunities to meet your neighbors (both the human AND the winged kind!). We've all been there: walking through the woods when someone--a friend, a child--asks "What's that bird?" If it's not a robin or cardinal, we're suddenly perplexed. Where to turn to avoid remaining confused forever? Overton Park Conservancy's Nature 101 walks! On Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 to noon, we'll be kicking off walks at the top of every hour to help you identify our local birds, plants, insects, fungi, and reptiles. You'll get a handy field guide to the Old Forest and learn from knowledgeable Conservancy staff and volunteers. Registration is pay-what-you-can with a suggested donation of $5.
